Union calls on public to support picketing workers at Green Isle

The Technical, Engineering and Electrical Union (ICTU) is to launch an online petition today in support of picketing workers at Green Isle Foods.

Ten staff at the firm in Naas, Co Kildare have been on strike for almost six months in a dispute over the sacking of workers for alleged misconduct.

One of the workers, Jim Wyse, has been on hunger strike since last Wednesday.
