Gardaí look at CCTV footage in hit-and-run case

Gardaí investigating a hit and run in Cork city centre have begun studying CCTV footage.

The incident happened at around 3.45am this morning when a 27-year-old man was hit by a car on the side street leading to St Peter and Paul’s Church off Patrick Street.

The young man suffered injuries to his back and was rushed by an ambulance to Cork University Hospital.

The driver of the car involved in the incident abandoned the vehicle.
