Green Party TD Paul Gogarty has admitted the Green Parliamentary Party is divided on whether Minister Willie O'Dea should resign.

Although the party's Dáil members all voted with the Government in a motion of confidence in the Minister yesterday, Deputy Gogarty says behind the scenes some felt he should go, some felt he should stay and some were "in the middle".

Gogarty revealed that Minister O'Dea met Green leader John Gormley in relation to the controversy over Minister O'Dea's giving false evidence in an affidavit, and said if Minister Gormley "wanted him gone, he'd be gone".
