O'Dea subject of FF confidence motion

The Government is to hold a motion of confidence in the Defence Minister today.

Last night Fine Gael tabled a motion of no confidence in Willie O'Dea. The motion was due to be debated next week.

Minister O'Dea last night denied making an untrue statement in a defamation case last year, saying it was a mistake which he later corrected.

Brian Cowen informed the Dáil this afternoon that the Minister would get the confidence of the Dáil today.
