Gardaí: Dublin shooting 'not gangland related'

Two men have been arrested after a 21-year-old man was shot dead in West Dublin this morning.

The incident happened at a house in Fortlawn Park in Clonsilla at around 4am.

Gardaí say at this stage they are satisfied the shooting is not gangland related.

Gardai are exploring the possibility that the man died after a legally held shotgun was accidentally discharged.

The body of the man remains at the scene - which has been sealed off - awaiting the arrival of the State Pathologist and a forensic team from the Garda Technical Bureau.

Two men aged 18 and 23 - who were arrested shortly after the shooting - are being questioning at Finglas garda station, under section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
