Tánaiste: Govt 'most anxious' to secure Ryanair jobs
The Tánaiste has said the Government is "most anxious" to secure further investment from Ryanair at Dublin or any other Irish airport.
In a letter sent to Ryanair boss Michael O'Leary this afternoon, Mary Coughlan said there were two obstacles to Ryanair's proposal to create 300 aircraft maintenance jobs in Dublin - Ryanair's refusal to talk to the DAA and the fact the hangar the airline wants is already being used by Aer Lingus.
Mary Coughlan also said she was very disappointed that 200 Ryanair jobs went instead to Prestwick Airport in Glasgow, despite "best efforts" to secure the investment for Dublin.
