Poll reveals opinion split on Lee departure
A poll in today's Sunday Independent shows opinion is evenly divided on George Lee's decision to quit the Dáil and Fine Gael.
The Milward Brown/IMS poll shows that 45% of respondents believe he was right to resign when he did, while 43% think he was wrong to leave just nine months after his by-election win in Dublin South.
Some 58% of people think he should be allowed to return to work in RTÉ, while 3% believe he shouldn't.
Meanwhile 27% think he should set up a new political party.
On the question of Enda Kenny's leadership of Fine Gael, half of all respondents do not believe that he will be leading the party at the next general election, compared to 38% who believe he will.
