Woman killed in Dublin housefire
A woman in her forties has been killed in a housefire in Dublin.
It is the second fire fatality in 24 hours after a man in his twenties died in Cork.
Emergency services were alerted to the blaze at a house on Hazel Terrace in Ballymun after 7.30am today.
Five units of the Dublin Fire Services battled the fire.
The occupant of the house - a woman in her forties - was pronounced dead at the scene, which remains sealed off.
This morning's death comes after a23-year-old man died in an apartment fire in Cobh in Co Cork.
It is believed the man was overcome by smoke fumes in the blaze which broke out in an apartment in the early hours of yesterday morning.
The man's body was only discovered last night. His death is not believed to be suspicious.
A post-mortem examination is due to be carried out later.
