Irish Cancer Society propose launching cancer info centres

Efforts are being made to establish five cancer information centres at hospitals throughout the country.

The ambitious plan is being proposed by the Irish Cancer Society as it launches its €4m 'Daffodil Day' fund raising campaign.

The money goes towards the provision of patient care throughout the country.

Mairead Lyons from the ICS said despite the economic downturn they have been able to meet the growing demand for their support services.
