Gardaí say a body found on the banks of the Shannon yesterday could be that of a missing Limerick man.

Forty-eight-year-old Francie Green disappeared from his flat in Hartstone Street in Limerick at the end of November last.

Yesterday afternoon the body of a man was found at Portrine in County Clare - a post-mortem is now underway.

Last month, a 27-year-old man was arrested in connection with the disappearance of Mr Green. He was released without charge.
