200 jobs cut at Louth engineering plant
Two hundred jobs are to go with the closure of Bitech Engineering in Dunleer in Co Louth.
SIPTU said the company's parent group Glen Dimplex announced the closure of the factory today.
Workers had been engaged in talks on changes as part of a cost reduction programme, but rejected the proposals before Christmas.
A number of redundancies were proposed as part of the programme, with remaining workers expected to take a 20% pay cut.
