Jury to deliberate for third day in Lillis trial

The jury in the Eamonn Lillis murder trial will later start into a third day of deliberations.

The 52-year-old TV ad producer denies killing his wife Celine Cawley at their Dublin home on Windgate Road Howth on December 15, 2008.

The jury will reconvene in court at 11am this morning.

Mr Justice Barry White told them yesterday evening after about five and a half hours of deliberations that he would give them further directions when they regroup today.

The six men and six women have been told they can acquit Eamonn Lillis, find him guilty of murdering his wife Celine Cawley or return a verdict of manslaughter.

The mother of one was found unconscious with head injuries in a pool of blood at the decking to the rear of their Howth home on December 15, 2008.
