Four due in court in connection with drugs swoops

Four men are due in court in Athlone today charged in connection with drug dealing in the town.

They were arrested yesterday in an operation coordinated by the Garda National Drugs Unit.

A fifth man who was arrested appeared before Athlone District Court yesterday. He was released on bail and is due in court again next month.

A woman also appeared before Longford District Court.

Meanwhile, Gardai in Dublin arrested eight men yesterday, all in their 20s, as part of a major drugs investigation.

They are being questioned at Finglas and Cabra Garda Stations.
