200 Irish troops to join Chad mission

Two hundred Irish troops are flying out to Chad today to begin a four-month tour of duty.

The will be followed by a further 200 members of the 102 Battalion in two weeks' time.

The Defence Forces have been involved in the peacekeeping mission in Chad for almost two years.
