Wicklow among areas still affected by water outages
Hundreds of Irish households are still enduring severe cuts to their water supply as local authorities work to repair leaks.
Parts of Co Wicklow are among the worst affected.
A major burst of a 24-inch pipe at Newtownmountkennedy means the main supply has been cut off in the area since 6am this morning and will remain out for a minimum for 24 hours.
The areas affected include Kilpedder, Newtown, Newcastle, Kilcoole and Greystones.
Wicklow County Councillor Nicky Kelly has hit out at the National Emergency Response Committee and their handling of the situation.
"This is all about funding," Cllr Kelly said.
"I am not aware of one tangible, positive role that this emergency committee has played.
"It has met many tmes, it has been publicised many times, but it hasn't had any impact on people's access to drinking water… or flooding."
