More judges make payments to Revenue Commissioners

A total of 111 judges have now made voluntary payments to the Revenue Commissioners following the introduction of the public service pension levy.

That is despite the fact that they are under no legal obligation to do so as under the constitution, the pay of the state's 141 judges cannot be interfered with.

However, Revenue says to date it has received almost 700,000 in pension levy payments from the judiciary and commitments have been made on another 55,000.
