Second man arrested in connection with O'Meara killing

A man was being questioned today in connection with the death of a father-of-three whose body was discovered in a shallow grave.
Stephen O’Meara was missing for almost five months when his remains were discovered on Christmas Eve in a wooded area at Ballydonnell, near Red Cross, Co Wicklow.
A 46-year-old man was arrested as part of the investigation and taken into custody at Wicklow Garda station.
He can be detained for up to seven days under section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act.
O'Meara, 26, was from Rosehill estate in Wicklow town and had three young children.
He was last seen on August 6 when he went out to meet someone after telling his partner Catherine Green he would be back shortly.
His parents, John and Veronica O’Meara, made several appeals for information about their son’s whereabouts after his disappearance.
