Water shortage sees workers at Batchelors put on protective notice
Batchelors has had to put 40 workers at its facility in Dublin on protective notice.
The company says the shortage of water means it can no longer fully operate its plant in Cabra which makes squeez juices and tinned peas and beans.
The factory is the second highest user of water in the city of Dublin.
It says no clear answers have come from Dublin City Council on when the water situation will improve, and that it is disappointing as demand for canned foods is currently at its highest.
