Skibbereen at risk of flooding
Efforts are underway to sandbag parts of Skibbereen in west Cork, amid fears of flooding this afternoon.
A combination of high tide, sea swells, heavy rain and melting snow has led to concerns that some areas may be badly flooded.
The Civil Defence has been joined by the army in trying to protect the town from the floods.
Meanwhile, water has been restored to a Cork's Mercy Hospital, after supply was cut by a burst main on Sunday.
The Mercy had been relying on tankers to stay open, while hundreds of homes were affected as the fault was repaired.
The same hospital was badly damaged by flooding last November.
