Eastern counties worst hit by cold weather

Road conditions in the east of the country continue to be very icy this morning.

Irish Rail says their Dart and intercity services are running as normal - but they will be in heavy demand, with the weather hitting bus services harder.

A Dublin Airport spokesperson says it is business as usual this morning, with a slight carryover - passengers are advised to check with their airlines before leaving home.

Bus Éireann said that most of their services outside of the east of the country are operating, with some delays in parts.

In the east however, services are heavily affected, especially those between parts of Louth and Dublin - passengers are advised to check with their local offices for latest details.

Dublin City Council had gritting crews working throughout the night - even still, Dublin Bus said some routes will still be curtailed.
