Road conditions are described as treacherous in the midlands, east and western counties, and AA Roadwatch has warned that many roads have not been gritted.

Dublin Bus has withdrawn all services this evening due to the worsening road condition in and around the city.

Bus Eireann said all inter-city services from Dublin are now operating apart from Rosslare and New Ross.

Bus Eireann spokesperson Andrew McLindon said, although there are some delays and disruptions, most bus routes in Leinster are running as normal.

Louise Duffy from AA Roadwatch says roads in Leinster are particularly bad.
