Former leader of the Catholic Church Cardinal Cahal Daly died tonight.

Former leader of the Catholic Church Cardinal Cahal Daly died tonight.

The 92-year-old retired cleric had a history of heart trouble and was rushed to Belfast City Hospital four days ago.

Tonight a Church spokesman confirmed that Cardinal Daly, who was Catholic Primate of all Ireland from 1990 until 1996, died in the hospital surrounded by family and friends.
