Rise in appeals to Employment Rights Authority

The National Employment Rights Authority secured over €2.3m in unpaid wages for workers from their employers during 2009.

The National Employment Rights Authority secured over €2.3m in unpaid wages for workers from their employers during 2009.

NERA dealt with almost 150,000 calls for assistance over the last year, up 38% from 108,000 calls the previous year.

The authority's officials also carried out more than 22,000 inspections during 2009.
