Security operation closes M1 motorway

The M1 between Newry and and Jonesborough has been closed for a security operation this morning after a suspicious vehicle was discovered.

Motorists are being asked to divert on the old N1.

Meanwhile there are no DART services running between Lansdowne Road and Dun Laoghaire in Dublin.

Motorists are also being advised to avoid the Merrion Gates and Strand Road area after a truck collided with the level crossing at the Merrion Gates.

Dublin bus will honour all valid tickets.
