Services are returning to normal at St James' Hospital in Dublin this afternoon after a bomb scare earlier.

Services are returning to normal at St James' Hospital in Dublin this afternoon after a bomb scare earlier.

The Army bomb disposal team and Gardaí were called to the outpatients department at around 1pm after a suspect package was discovered.

However, a spokesperson for the Defence Forces said it turned out to be a hoax.

Services at the hospital are now returning to normal.
