Dublin diocese set for new director for child protection

The Dublin diocese is looking to appoint a new director, responsible for safeguarding children.

The post because vacant after the previous child protection director joined the HSE but the diocese denies its making the appointment as a result of the Murphy report.

All complaints of child abuse received within the diocese are refereed to the office which then refers them on to the gardaí.

It is likely the role will be filled in the coming weeks.
