The Labour Party has today called on the Environment Minister to launch an independent inquiry into the recent flooding in Cork.

Labour says the flooding that devastated the city must be prevented from ever happening again.

It follows conflicting stories from the ESB and the City and County Councils on the events leading up to the floods.
