Young boy killed in road accident

A four-year-old boy has been killed in a road accident in County Westmeath.

The crash involving a lorry and a car happened on the N4 Dublin/Sligo road close to Mullingar this evening.

Two other people were injured in the collision, but are in a stable condition.

The east bound lane of the N4 remains closed.
