Three arrested after Finglas armed raid attempt

Gardaí have arrested three men and recovered a firearm following an attempted robbery at a post office in north Dublin this morning.

The incident happened at about 8am in Finglas village.

Local gardaí and members of the Traffic Corp were responding to reports of the three men acting suspiciously on the Ballygall Road and later arrested them near the scene.

A firearm, gloves, masks and boilersuits were also recovered.

The three men, all in their 20s, are being are detained at Finglas Garda Station.
