Full radon testing 'would take 400 years'

Radon experts are warning that it could take up to 400 years to test every home in Ireland for the dangerous gas.

The issue is being discussed at a forum in Dublin today, organised by the Radiological Protection Institute of Ireland to remind people of the dangers of the naturally occurring gas which is linked to 200 lung cancers every year.

David Fenton from the RPII has called for the current rate of measurement to be increased dramatically.
