Spike in repossession applications

Over 860 repossession applications have been lodged in the first 10 months of 2009.

The figure is nearly three times the number seen in the same period of 2007.

Figures in today's Irish Independent are raising concerns that the courts are facing a flood of personal debt actions in the coming year.
