Terrible weather in store for weekend

Forecasters are warning of heavy rain and gale force winds this weekend.

Around 40 mm of rainfall is expected this evening with the east of the country to be worst affected.

Flood alerts have already been issued in several areas.

However Vincent O'Shea, meterologist with Met Éireann, says there should be some respite for the crucial World Cup play-off first leg against France.
