Galway pensioner 'beaten to death in attempted robbery'
Gardaí are investigating the possibilty that a pensioner murdered in Co. Galway may have been beaten to death during an attempted robbery.
The body of 78-year-old Finbarr Fahy was found at his house in Ballinduff on Wednesday morning.
A post mortem examination revealed that the retired farmer was hit across the head several times and died as a result of blunt force trauma.
