The Minister for Energy Eamon Ryan is expected to announce a new government biofuel obligation today.

From July next year, fuel suppliers will have to include an average of 4% biofuel in their annual sales.

Biofuels include bioethanol which comes from plants. Bioethanol produces in fewer greenouse emissions that oil.
