Report: Recession leading to rise in gender-based violence

The recession has led to an increase in gender-based violence.

Mary Robinson is to launch a report in Dublin this morning which shows a link between the economic downturn and instances of forced marriage and human trafficking.

Finola Finnan, the chairperson of the Joint Consortium who also works with Trocaire, said that it's getting harder to help people because of cuts to aid.
