Gardaí investigate tiger kidnapping in Kilkenny

Gardaí in Kilkenny are investigating a tiger kidnapping involving a bank official and his family.

The incident began this morning when the bank official and his family were confronted at their home by a gang trying to rob the bank where he worked in Kilkenny.

It's believed the man's wife was taken hostage by the gang.

Gardaí said protocols between them and the bank were activated, and the incident only concluded early this afternoon with the safe release of all those involved.

The gang is thought to have escaped without any money.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone who witnessed suspicious activity in the area of the Weather Station at Grange Road or Parliament street in Kilkenny to contact them.
