Cowen: Govt won't implement all Bord Snip proposals

The Taoiseach Brian Cowen has told the Dáil that not all of the recommendations in the Bord Snip report will be implemented in December's Budget.

However he said the Government is still committed to making cutbacks totalling €4bn for next year.

Mr Cowen said the Government is currently examining the McCarthy report to decide which of its recommendations should be implemented in December.

But he said not everything recommended by An Bord Snip will be done immediately.
