Health chief encouraged by swine flu vaccination take-up
The National Director of Population Health says he thinks the swine flu vaccination programme got off to a good start yesterday.
It follows claims that hundreds of patients had to be turned away from doctors' surgeries after supplies ran out.
The problem has been blamed on a delay by doctors in ordering the jabs.
Dr Pat Doorley says that the general population may not get the vaccine for a number of months yet, while they focus on the at-risk groups.
