Plans progessing for national day of protest

Plans are being finalised for Friday's national day of protest.

The 24/7 Frontline Alliance has met with the Irish Congress of Trade Unions to discuss the logistics of the protest over planned cuts to the public sector.

Chairman of the Alliance Des Kavanagh is calling on private sector workers to come out in support of civil servants.

He is calling for tax hikes instead of public sector cuts.
