A Dublin man is due to go on trial at the Central Criminal Court on Wednesday charged with murdering Christopher Barry (aged 25), in a Dublin bookmakers last year.

Liam Bolger (aged 23), of Homelawn Gardens in Tallaght has pleaded not guilty to the murder of Mr Barry at Byrne's Bookmakers on Killester Avenue in Doneycarney.

The victim was shot in the head by a gunman on the afternoon of September 13, 2008.

A jury of six men and six women has been sworn in for the trial which is expected to last up to six days before Mr Justice Paul Carney.
