Backbencher Kenneally gives thumbs up to drink drive law compromise
A government backbencher has described Noel Dempsey's new drink driving proposals as a sensible compromise.
Waterford TD Brendan Kenneally was one of the many Fianna Fail TD's who opposed the reduction in the blood alcohol level from
80ml to 50ml.
Under the new measures anyone who registers between those two levels will face penalty points rather than a driving ban.
