Farmers continue blockade of Glanbia grain mills
Farmers are continuing to blockade Glanbia mills in Laois and Wexford today as part of a protest over the price being paid for grain.
The demonstration began at 8am yesterday morning and continued through the night at the two plants in Portlaoise and Clonroche.
The Irish Farmers Association says its members are losing up to €50 on every tonne of grain being sold to Glanbia.
Talks between the association and the company collapsed without agreement last night and the IFA is vowing to maintain the blockades until a fair deal is negotiated.
