Dundalk hotel raided by gang of masked men

Gardaí are hunting for a gang of six masked men who raided a hotel in Co Louth overnight.

The men, who were armed with a hatchet and a golf club, broke into the Carrickdale Hotel in Dundalk at around 3.30am.

Nobody was injured during the incident and it is unclear whether anything was stolen.

The gang fled in a white Northern-registered Volkswagen Golf which was driven off in the direction of Newry.
