Woman shaken after 'tiger kidnapping' ordeal

A woman was kidnapped from her home by a gang of robbers in Bangor, it was revealed today.

Masked men forced her at gunpoint to go to her place of work while they held another man, aged 25, hostage in Dufferin Avenue, Bangor, last night.

The woman, aged 22, was taken to Castle Street, Newtownards, where she removed cash from a safe. The pair were reunited and left shaken but unhurt.

The two assailants wore balaclavas and carried handguns.

Detectives appealed for anybody with information to contact them.
