Army bomb disposal experts made safe a crude but viable improvised explosive device (IED) last night at Clonranald Road, Donnycarney in Dublin.

Army bomb disposal experts made safe a crude but viable improvised explosive device (IED) last night at Clonranald Road, Donnycarney in Dublin.

The team arrived on scene following a Garda request at 11.50 pm.

The IED placed under a car was made safe by controlled explosion.

The bomb disposal officer gave the all-clear at 12.20am and the remains of the device were handed over to gardaí for investigation.
