FF endorses new Programme for Government

The Fianna Fáil parliamentary party has unanimously endorsed the new Programme for Government negotiated with the Green Party last week.

Wexford TD John Browne was also chosen as the new chairman of the main government party at a meeting in Leinster House last night.

Mr Browne succeeds Seamus Kirk, who was appointed as the new Ceann Comhairle of the Dáil yesterday following the departure of John O'Donoghue.

Mr Kirk will begin his first official day in his new role later this morning.
