Toddler Aisling Symes' body found in drain

A body believed to be that of missing toddler Aisling Symes has reportedly been found in New Zealand.

The two-year-old, whose father Alan is from Co Waterford, disappeared in the Auckland suburb of Henderson last Monday.

Local media say the body of a child was found in a drain today after the emergency services were called to two properties in the area.

Police inspector Gary Davey is quoted as saying it is too early to determine how long the body had been there.

The scene, which has been cordoned off, is around 200 yards away from where Aisling went missing.
