Two held after car crashed with garda vehicle, court hears

A Special Branch detective told a court today that two men were detained by armed detectives after their car crashed into an official garda car as they tried to escape from a pursuing patrol car.

Detective Sergeant Martin Harrington said that he and other members of the Special Detective Unit were monitoring INLA activities in the Dundalk area when the incident occurred.
