Bord na Móna denies 500 jobs at risk
Management at Bord na Móna has dismissed claims that 500 jobs are under threat at the company.
Reports yesterday claimed the jobs could be shed when two plants in Lanesboro and Shannonbridge are temporarily closed for repairs over the next two years.
However, management says the reports are "without foundation".
The company is quoted this morning saying that only 80 workers would be affected by the temporary closures and most if not all would be redeployed while the repairs are carried out.
