Gardaí investigate fatal house fire in Kildare

Gardaí in Kildare are investigating the circumstances surrounding a house fire in which an elderly man died.
Neighbours alerted the Gardaí and the fire brigade to the blaze at Pairc Mhuire in Newbridge just after 6am this morning.
There were three people in the house at the time and they were rushed to Naas General Hospital.
An 81-year-old man was later pronounced dead.
The other man who was in his 40s and a woman in her 70s are said to be in a stable condition.
The scene has been preserved for a technical examination.
